MKL – the Mitteldeutsche Kunststofflogistik is a joint venture of Karl Schmidt Spedition and Finsterwalder Transport und Logistik GmbH. In 2002 it was officially taken into operation as midsize logistics company with 35 employees.
For DOW Chemicals, a manufacturer of plastics, on an area of 26.000 square meters MKL constructed a modern logistics complex in the Valuepark Schkopau. It consists of 70 storage silos with a total storage capacity of 17.500 metric tons containing an intermediate zone with a mobile sack filling facility as well as a warehouse providing 10.380 square meters storage capacity.
This facility handles 300.000 metric tons of polypropylene granulate materials per year. After the one-year construction time the opening ceremony for the 17 Mio Euro object was held in June 2004. Since then the facility is run by MKL.
MKL stands for modern and efficient logistic services. The future of MKL will be based on and secured by balanced ecological and ethnical actions. Highly qualified services require qualified and motivated employees to meet the requirements of our customers from all over the world.
By personal contact with our customers we want to recognize and understand their wishes. The resulting demands will be met by innovation and permanent improvement.
The base for this is our existing and productive staff. The contract logistics is optimized by our modern technological facilities combined with elaborate management. An outstanding service can only be performed when all items of this chain function quality-conscious.
